Crayola Container Photos

The offical listing of all the crayon containers that Binney & Smith/Crayola have ever sold is kept on an Excel spreadsheet without photos.  It documents the design, size, number of colors, rarity, etc. for each container.  If you can use a spreadsheet, you can sort and arrange the data any way you want.  If not, I have provided that same data in the form of two webpages:  One sorted alphabetically and one sorted by BS number.

Additionally, there are two other spreadsheets that document every color within a container (when known).  Again, I have provided these in a webpage format as well.

The official Excel files:

Web pages equivalent to the Excel spreadsheets:

Also, I have added reference documents for the abbreviations of Box Types and Design Types to help you with the spreadsheets

Crayola/Binney & Smith photos are numerical by ID number.  These ID numbers are not part of Crayola.  I created them as a way to track every container.
Each ID number uniquely identifies a specific container of crayons.
This ID will remain unique and can be easily used as a reference when discussing specific container designs.

These days I cannot get all the information by myself.  A number of other collectors have helped contribute to this compilation by providing either photos, color inventories or both.  I want to specifically thank Jennifer at Jenny's Crayon Collection.  She has a great Crayola collecting website with a lot of the post 2014 information.  She is one of the main go-to-people for all recent Crayola goings on.  I also want to thank Mark Hastings for several new containers and color inventories.  He has a crayon collecting blog focusing on Crayola items at Crayola Crayon Collectors and has been collecting longer than even I have.  In addition, there are a host of collector friends who have helped with one or more containers/color inventories: Alan Neufeld, Jane Kahan, Rice Sauls, Jordan Gaal, Stacy Hodges, Elizabeth Hemingway and more.

Photos With IDs

These photo pages are divided into sections and each webpage is limited to 18 photos for easy loading and printing.  With several thousand containers, it was easiest to break them up into crayon size groupings.  They are also currently the only way to link the spreadsheet BS ID numbers to their corresponding photos.  Each section is ordered by their BS ID number ascending.

Use this to help your crayon collecting.  If you are a crayon collector, you can create your own vintage crayon checklist from these pages.  Simply print out each page; the pages are designed to fit a typical 8.5x11 sheet of paper in landscape mode.  I then circle the BS numbers for the containers I personally have.
