History
A.K. Cross was a company that headquartered in Boston, MA and specialized
in various self taught art education instruction packages. They also got into the crayon business with
at least one product but may have produced more or perhaps other sizes. These were really their primary focus, they
simply supported their Cross Drawing Glass product by providing their own
crayons along with the rest of the kit.
It is difficult to establish when they first opened their doors and
when they closed them but based on their advertising it would appear they
started sometime in the mid 1910s and were likely closed during the great
depression in the late 1920s. There is
currently only one surviving example of their crayon products.
