History

The company really began in 1949 as the business of Simmons King Company and then became Simmons-King, a division of Permanent Pigments, Inc. and later in 1951 Simmons-King, Inc., an independent corporation.  In December, 1951 Robert Simmons sold his stock and other interests in the Simmons-King, Inc.  A. Langnickel continued as the company name from 1951 until they went out of business in 1996.  They primarily focused on art supplies such as painting brushes but also did some crayon related product.
