History

Brunswick was founded by John Moses Brunswick in 1845.  He immigrated from Switzerland to the USA at the age of 15 and started in Cincinnati, OH.  He originally set out to make carriages but diverted to billiards and made tables and accessories.  They changed the name in 1860 to accommodate a family member into the business leadership.  From there they merged several times in the 1800s and expanded into bowling equipment.  Throughout the years they continued to expand to other industries.   Today they are known for their boating industry although they have numerous other industry focuses.  Along the way they have made crayons to support their bowling and billiard accessories.   In the old days, you would keep score with a long crayon.  Of course, these days all of that is computerized so the marking crayons are part of a by-gone day.  Still, we have several examples to collect from.  By 2015
