Catechetical Guild
St. Paul, MN
1940 - 1972

History

The Catechetical Guild was a Catholic based publishing company in St. Paul, MN that started in 1940 and continued until 1972.  Catechetical Guild was bought out in July of 1972 by “Our Sunday Visitor, Inc” out of Huntington, Indiana to expand their publishing operations. Reverand Louis A. Gales founded Catechetical Guild and wanted the merger in order to insure its continuation as a service organization for Catholic teachers.  They mostly produced religious pamphlets and books but did come out with a crayon product designed for coloring photos.
