History

Dennison was founded by brothers Aaron and Eliphalet W. Dennison as an adjunct to their father's jewelry business.  It was originally a jewelry-box making company run out of the family home in Brunswick, Maine, in the 1840s. The Dennison Mfg Co. came to Framingham, MA in 1897 and stayed until 1990 when they merged with Avery and the new merged company moved to California.  In between, they made a variety of products.  One of their box salesman even flew with Charles Lindberg on the first transcontinental air flight in 1929.  They were an ethical company.  They never laid-off an employee; even during the Great Depression.

As for their crayon boxes, these were included in their doll dress up sets they sold.  They had at least two different designs.
