History

Goldsmith Publishing Co. opened in 1905 and leased their first building in Cleveland. Their founder, Marcus Goldsmith, ran the company until he died in 1963. It is unclear when they truly went out of business as there are records from the 1970s although it appears that the majority of their business was in the 1920s through 1940s. In addition to a publishing company, they also ran a retail store in which they sold their crayons.
