More High Tech Crayons

2007 was a quiet year for Crayola.   They only put out one new assortment that impacted the color history:  True to Life

Crayola True to
                Life - 8 colors.jpg    True to Life
                  colors.jpg

The True to Life assortment featured tri-color tips that contained three different colors in one for a unique lay down color when colored with.  That put these new colors as both new color names and new true colors.  The set was designed to feature familiar landmarks that tied with the general color family each crayon represented.  They used:  Amazon Rainforest, Caribbean Current, Florida Sunrise, Grand Canyon, Maui Sunset, Milky Way, Sahara Desert, Yosemite Campfire.  The colors essentially represented the standard Black, Blue, Brown, Green, Orange, Violet (purple), Red.  There was one key color missing though:  Yellow.  They didnt really offer up a crayon to represent the Yellow family; instead choosing a lighter brown for Sahara Desert.

One Goodbye

Though they only put out the Colors of ecomagination just a year earlier in 2006 it was already off the market in 2007.  And with it went eight active colors:  Clear Water Blue, Cleaner Coal Black, Evolution Orange, Hybrid Green, Mother Earth Brown, Purification Purple, Revitalized Red and Solar Yellow.

For the color history, here were the changes from 2007:
